Looking after our clients and our team

In line with the latest government guidance, Hafod Renewable Energy is changing the way it operates in order to continue safe working with Covid-19

The new measures put in place are designed to protect both our employees and clients.

We are committed to protecting the health of our clients and our team. Our coronavirus mitigation measures that we have put in place are designed to minimise the risk of spreading the virus. We are following the government advice on working in other people’s homes in addition to carrying out our own risk assessments to ensure that we can safely install renewable technologies at the current COVID alert level.

 Pre- Sales

Our head office including our showroom will be open to the public but by appointment only.  New measures include entrance to only one family at a time, strict social distancing, and a non-contact experience.

Initial home sales visits are to be replaced with remote desktop surveys.   To obtain a quotation estimate, homeowners are encouraged to complete our online ‘quote form’ with as much information as possible.

The quotation will be completed by our professional team using specialist remote tools such as google earth, google maps, EPC register etc.

Following completion of the quote form you can expect;

  • To receive your quotation by email and are encouraged to ask questions via telephone, email or if you prefer a video conference link arranged by ourselves
  • If you would like to experience a heat pump, solar or battery installation, you are welcome see a ‘live’ system at our showroom at our headquarters near St Asaph.
Alternatively, we can put you in touch of customers who have had a similar system installed.
  • If you would like to proceed with the installation, then we can book a technical visit to confirm the quotation. This will consist of a visit by our own engineer to assess the installation of your renewable system.  The cost of this visit is a non-refundable payment of £200 prior to the visit.  Should you proceed, this will be deducted from the contract value of your project.
  • During this technical visit, whenever possible, we will ask that the property is vacated, for the duration of the survey. If properties cannot be vacated, occupiers must stay at least 2m from the surveyor at all times. The best way to achieve this is by staying in one designated room for the duration of the survey, then leaving that room when the surveyor needs to inspect it.
  • For Covid-19 secure continuity the same engineer who conducts the technical survey will be the same engineer who installs the system.
  • If you are happy to proceed with the installation, an electronic signature contract will be sent by email along with a secure world pay link for the deposit.

During installation

The majority of our installation work is completed outside your home and therefore classed as a low risk installation.  However, there are parts of the installation where we need to access your home to replace cylinders and radiators for example.  When we are working in the home, we are following the strict guidance below.

  • There will only ever be one team assigned to an installation.
  • Installers are required to pass a test each morning stating they have no symptoms of Covid-19.
  • Homeowners are asked if they have any symptoms of Covid-19 prior to an arranged installation.
  • The homeowner will be made aware exactly when we are arriving and where we will be working in the home so they can prepare areas.
  • When working in the home, the installation team and homeowner must adhere to social distancing meaning they must keep a minimum 2m apart.
  • Opening windows in tight space working areas and opening doors for both ventilation and non-contact are encouraged.
  • Strict hygiene will be followed by installers including regular hand washing and sanitising hand tools and equipment.
  • Once the installation is complete, tutorials on how to use the equipment can be carried out by social distancing if possible or via video presentation.
  • If at any time during an installation the homeowner or our employees feel unsafe due to the above guidelines not being followed, then the installation can be halted and resumed only when safe to do so.
  • Completion of grant/incentive documentation and registrations will be completed remotely as usual.

We thank you for your co-operation at these times and we strive to ensure your whole experience is Covid-19 secure.  We have proved by following the new guidelines we can install systems safely.

The lucrative government backed renewable heat incentive is only pledged until March 2022 therefore we are urging homeowners to take the opportunity to work through Covid-19 safely and to enjoy the future of renewable heat by competing our new online quotation form.

Post Covid-19 installations we have successful completed and homeowners are reaping their rewards.
